The Field Spaniel breed evolved about 150 years ago, developed in the English countryside. The field is a true countryman. He is active, tireless and inquisitive but can be noisy; of course if not fully occupied, can be destructive. The field is a loving and sensible breed that adores being with people and involved in all house hold activities. They enjoy travelling and car rides are a real treat.
Amongst the larger of the spaniels the field puppy needs quality feeding at regular hours. The field is an easy to maintain breed with the removal of excess hair from under the ear, around the feet and from the hocks is all that is required to keep him smart and neat, his coat needing just a daily brushing to keep it shining and healthy
